 The Hermitage museum in Russia is truly one of those gems in the world that awes and inspires  one. Here is housed a collection of paintings and sculptures  that are simply magnificent.   My own meager exposure to this treasure trove of art came via a book I had taken out of the library.  Meager or not, I was inspired by what I saw.  This classical Greek terracotta  figurine housed in the museums great collection caught my eye. In the photograph it was displayed simply,  I painted the figurine adding a background and dramatic lighting.
